Moncler Genius, first launched in 2018, presents a seasonal suite of collaborations during Milan Fashion Week's fall season that then appear in stores each month until the whole shebang of starts again in February. Moncler Jacket The eleven collections shown last February included a few repeat Moncler collaborators as well as some new names, giving the not - so - modest quilted jacket the majesty of a Valentino gown, under Pierpaolo Piccioli; the Edwardian goth of Simone Rocha; and, of course, the highly conceptual yet highly wearable design credentials of Craig Green. (There was also a collection of puffer couture for dogs, but that is a story for another time.)
And what of the 'spaceship' that Owens and Lamy used to traverse America's rugged desert landscapes In a prescient move, Rick Owens chose to create a mode of travel in which he and his creative partner and wife, Michele Lamy, could cocoon in.
It's just got a lot better - looking. Liquid shine nylon laque, avant - garde cocoon silhouettes and neat boudin quilting have shaped and reformed the original duvet jacket, creating the iconic Moncler tropes of today.
Experimenting with angular additions, Green proposes featherweight zip - up jackets with padded hoods, parkas, and base layers made from a sum of light modules that can be folded, flattened and packed.
The collection was beautiful too, but no nightmare. Rocha heaped skirts of tulle under voluminous nylon outer layers studded with flower beads and pins, adding tulle or nylon bibs and hoods set into the body of the garments.
